About Cycle Sport Pendle

In 2008, six months before the Beijing Olympics a mix of experienced cyclists, ex racers and coaches set out on a journey to establish a new forward thinking cycling club here in Pendle.

Aimed at youngsters and new riders and using the already established format of British Cycling Go-Ride coaching sessions. Cycle Sport Pendle (CSP) was born.

Our aim is to introduce young riders, boys and girls, of mixed ages and abilities to the exhilarating sport of cycling. Our coaching is progressive, challenging and fun.

CSP riders work towards goals and levels of achievement which are recorded, rewarded and recognised, all underpinned by tried and trusted Go-Ride activities and our very own CSP Awards.

Cycle Sport Pendle gained the Sport England Club Mark Accreditation in 2011, and is now a Go-Ride Accredited club.

Our regular coaching sessions and club activities encourage and develop our young riders every step of the way.

The BMX section of CSP (Pendle Panthers) took hold, followed by the building of the pump track on the old gravel cycle track.

Our Rookies Group enjoy fun, but structured learning sessions, they will learn all the basic skills and techniques in a safe, and above all fun, environment.

Next up the Skillz Group. By now we have the makings of some pretty serious riders! When this group start to show real determination we push and challenge them a bit harder, but not too hard, that’s for later.

Some will have started racing in the youth categories, Mountain biking, BMX, Velodrome, Road Circuits and CycloCross. It’s still fun, we keep it low key and enjoyable.

Skillz+. Now we get serious! The CSP Skillz+ will encourage and assist riders to compete at their own level, ability and ambition, there is no selection process, just a commitment to learn, progress and enjoy the thrill of a healthy racing and leisure program.

Skillz+ members can expect additional training resources, support and more specific coaching as their ambitions and abilities accelerate and develop.
